When we created the FBTM “Blue Chip” Keeper League, our intent was to battle it out in two individual single-league format, 10-team keeper leagues. When the dust settled, we would compare the individual (AL and NL) champions to determine who would be the overall FBTM “Blue Chip” Keeper League Champion.
Here were the rules we set out in our league constitution:
“At the conclusion of the season, the overall FBTM Keeper League champion will be determined as follows -
The AL-only League Champion and NL-only League Champion will be compared on a one-to-one basis.
The basis for comparison will be the Roto points earned by that team in their respective League and for each Category.
Category by category, the Roto points earned by each individual League champion will be compared. For example, if the AL-only champion finished first in their league in HRs, they earned 10 Roto points. If the NL-only champion finished third in their league in HRs, they earned 8 Roto points. Therefore, the AL-only champion would win the comparison for HRs by a score of 10 to 8.
The League champion that wins the most categories through this method of comparison will be named FBTM “Blue-Chip” Keeper League Champion.
Given this, the FBTM AL-Only League Champion (myself and my Outlaws United FBTM) was compared to the FBTM NL-Only League Champion (Adam Jacobs and his Dirty Southpaws).
First of all, congratulations, Adam! Job well done! Let me tell you, I hadn’t played a single-league format league in a lot of years. I had forgotten how challenging it was to keep your roster filled with guys who were actually getting playing time … let alone playing well. Anyone who survived these leagues, let alone won, should be damn proud.

Of course, for anyone who cares, my title comes at a price. I literally have no one left to keep for 2010. That’s what happens when you go “all in” to win and trade every last keeper for a chance to win now.
I thank everyone who played for their support and participation this year. It truly was a fun fantasy baseball season, and I look forward to 2010.
